Correct. You can only add a GD Listings widget filtered by location OR a third party slider that cannot be filtered by location.
The search results cannot be filtered or sorted by featured.I’ll get the developers to have a look at your question after the weekend.

If you want to filter by location, you will have to use the GD Listings element. There is no slider that can filter by location.

Add the GD Output Location widget to the sidebar.
And select “Detail sidebar” in the “Show in Locations” for each custom field you want to show there.
