Is it possible to remove this icon and use “USD” or “GBP” etc. after the price amount?

Go to Places > Settings > Custom Fields tab > “Price” custom field on the right hand side.
Click on “Show Advanced” and adjust the settings as required.

Why do I need https://userswp.io/ surely GEO Directory comes with some registration process?

You don’t need UsersWP, we only suggest it to give your users a better experience.
GD will work without UsersWP. GD uses the standard WP login and register functions if you do not use any other registration plugin.
