    Hi,

we have no plans to integrate Gravity Forms.

I don’t think it is possible to make the form multipage without modifying core files and losing the option to update without losing your customization.

If you feel this should be added to the plugin, don’t hesitate to suggest it here

If the suggestion becomes popular, we will definitely consider it.

    Thanks

    Hi,

GD Booster caches everything, not just GD pages.

It is the combination of 2 pre-existing plugins, Quick cache and Css-Js Booster, tweaked to be 100% compatible with GD.

    Thanks

    Hi,

normally Google doesn’t even return a Zip for an address like that, you can see here: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/examples/places-autocomplete-addressform

When information is returned by an external service (even if it is the biggest and best of its kind like google maps) incomplete or inaccurate information are a possibility, however the user can always correct them.

The video about the loop is safari is private and I can’t see it.

    Thanks

Is there somewhere I can move geodirectory_template_actions.php to make it safe from updates?

That is a core file shouldn’t be moved anywhere.

If you need to modify any function present in that file, you should do it within your theme functions.php following this steps.

    1) remove the action that is calling the function you want to modify
    2) copy, paste and rename the function from a GD core file into functions.php
    3) edit the function as needed
    4) add a new action to call the new function.

Here you can see a detailed example:

    Thanks

    Hi,

you didn’t connect the app after adding the facebook app id and token, this made the token expire and GD wasn’t able to refresh it.

    See image attached.

    On top your settings (wrong)
    At the bottom correct settings.

The button connect app should say refresh token and down at the bottom you should have details about the token:

Facebook Access Token Active, expires: March 17, 2015, 10:23 pm

Let us know how you go… In the mean time I’ll set this as solved.

    Thanks

    Hi Bob,

the update shouldn’t change any of your options (and it doesn’t for the vast majority of our users).

You should update without fear, however I’d suggest to work with a staging website (a perfect copy of your online website).

This way you can update in the staging site without worries that anything could break your live site.

Once you have updated your staging site and are sure that everything works as it should, than you can update without any fear your live website.

This is best practice for anyone developing with open source software.

    Thanks

    Hi,

this situation is completely different from the Cardiff’s example.

Sandford isn’t a Bristol neighbourhood. It is a village 15 miles away from Bristol according to both Google Maps and Wikipedia.

It will be impossible for GeoDirectory to recognize that as part of the City Bristol.

You need the multilocation addon to add listings is both Bristol and Sandford or any other village around Bristol.

    Thanks

    Hi,

GeoDirectory works with locations and the core plugin allows to create 1 location only. This is clearly explained in the plugin description.

Every listing you add without the multilocation addon, can only be added to the default location, in your case “Winnipeg Manatoba”.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Cloudflare and Amazon CDN are 2 different things.

the 1st is more of an automatic process. You use their name servers and it will basically mirror part of your website serving your static file from their servers.

We use it for Theme Tailors since 3 years, it took 2 minutes to setup back than and it saved us 80% of bandwidth each year (for free), while protecting the website from malicious attacks of any kind.

Amazon has to be setup. I have never done it and I’m not 100% sure it will be as easy as setting up CloudFlare.

This plugin for example https://wordpress.org/plugins/amazon-s3-and-cloudfront/ will not work for all listings images, because they are not uploaded via wordpress media uploader. I’m almost positive that you wont find a plug and play solution for that.

In addition with amazon you pay for each byte of space and bandwidth used. That is something to consider too.

    Hope this helps deciding.

    Thanks
