FYI GeoDirectory has the option to create URLs such as this:
https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/location/near/gps/40.730096,-73.985449/1/
With Stiofan we were discussing the idea of creating an add-on to create custom locations that would basically just rewrite the URL of the example above and allow to set the limit of custom locations.
However, this isn’t something that we can have ready in a short time.
So for the moment tags would be the only option.
Thanks
Hi,
WordPress reserve the 2nd part of the domain to the post type, there is no way around that.
That said, you can have
site.com/cpt/city/category/
site.com/cpt/city/category/postthe catalog can be well ranked in search engines only if there is a city name at the beginning of the URL
This sounds totally anecdotal, at least for Google.
There are plenty of customer’s directories that are ranking just fine with the URL structure we provide right now.
Thanks
July 4, 2019 at 5:36 pm in reply to: Multilocations not designed to understand how major cities work #496295According to Google Maps, Santa Monica is a city that is part of the Los Angeles County, but it’s not part of the Los Angeles city:
Same according to WikiPedia and their own tourist site where they list their own neighborhoods: https://www.santamonica.com/santa-monica-neighborhoods/
Still, according to Google Maps, New York comprises 5 boroughs: https://www.google.com/maps/place/New+York,+NY,+USA/@40.6971494,-74.2598642,10z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c24fa5d33f083b:0xc80b8f06e177fe62!8m2!3d40.7127753!4d-74.0059728
That said, the admin can overwrite cities and force an address that should be in city: Santa Monica to be in city: Los Angeles
If you want user to be able to list an address of Santa Monica as if it was in Los Angeles, that’s not possible.
Thank you

[gd_loop_actions]
[gd_loop layout=2]
[gd_loop_paging]Thanks
I suggest you don’t waste your time with useless over optimization: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-code-to-text-ratio-algorithm-25503.html
Thanks
ACtivate the plugin again and follow these steps:
GD>Settings>Uninstall>Events (tick that) then deactivate and delete events.

Hi,
those are all really category pages. We do the same if you select an option from the autocompleter. We’ll send you to a category page that you can sort.
But if you search free terms or by location, sorting is bad UX and will return wrong results.
This is a real search:
As you can see there are no sorting options.
Booking and Trivago don’t allow free terms search. They’ll autocomplete your search with something from their database every time.
Yelp is the only one doing it, but if you do it on free terms search it will return no results. So it’s not a really good example.
The GeoDirectory site is doing it on Events only and it only allows sorting by all, upcoming or past.
