please install this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-log/ and try again.

If the emails are logged by this plugin, it means that the WordPress is sending them, but the mailserver is not. In that case a SMTP plugin will help. If you search for “SMTP” in this forum you will find countless topics about it.
