what you are asking for there isn’t possible with the out of the box features so it would be a customization. Some builders and 3rd party widgets have controls for this kind of thing, but it isn’t built into GeoDirectory for categories.
What is built in to GeoDirectory is to hide or show features based on the price package or the CPT. For each CPT you can have completely different CPT settings, tabs, categories, and packages. For price packages, there is a body class added to archive items and listings, a body class for the package, and that can be used to hide items with CSS, or of course there is the built in option to exlude fields by price package.
I have made a note of your idea to use categories only. It could be that we can add a body class to the details page in future versions for the default category. I have made a note of this and the developers will consider it for a future version.
At this time though, it would require a customization and falls outside of what we can help with in support.

You hadn’t finished setup of GDV2, it looks like. I added the important widgets to the sidebar so you can see them on the details page.

About the map and other items, GDV2 shortcodes are new and updated. You can use the shortcode builder, then add the map to the front page. Try it out and let us know how it goes.

Have you tried editing the WP Menu to remove the menu item?
To uninstall events, re-activate it, then visit the GD Uninstall settings and mark events for uninstall. Then deactivate and delete the addon to remove all associated events data.

We cannot fix something we cannot see. Several of us tested this and we were not able to recreate the issue reliably.

Let me try again.
The widget you are using INCLUDES the ENTIRE page INTO the widget. That is how it works. I do not know why it does that, but I read the instructions for it inside the widget and that is exactly what it says it is supposed to do. Use it if you want but there is no bug here.
Please try resetting the default location. This error can sometimes happen when the default location has incomplete or inaccurate information.
You can find the default location at:
GeoDirectory – Settings – Locations (tab) – Cities (subtab) – Edit
Drag the pin on the map enough to adjust the lat/lon and then save and see if the error persists.
If it does, please include WP Admin in a private reply so we can check the settings.

please try re-saving the default location. You can find that in
GeoDirectory – Settings – Locations (tab) – Cities (subtab)
Find the default location in the list and then click edit. Move the pin a bit and then re-save that location.
Let us know how it goes, and if the issue persist write back with WP Admin credentials so we can take a look at the settings.

the answer could only be in the options that Paypal provides. If they don’t offer that, then the listing owner would need to resubscribe for a new package.

we have been doing some testing with the Genesis child themes and they are working OK with GDV2.
If you need help to restore the proper functioning, you can just install a fresh copy of the theme.
If you need to debug the changes you made you can also do a compare to the fresh download to restore the functions for Titles and Metas etc.
You can find the theme in your downloads on this site. If the download links are missing, you can scroll to the bottom of the page and click the link to “Show V1 files”.
