GeoDirectory >> Place (or other CPT) settings.

Double click on the catgeory field, scroll down to the bottom and enable it as a filter.

Now in Advance Search tab the new filter will be availble for use.

Yes, but it is a WP custom post type. So it is a WP component. Location page are exclusively GD things.
