1. Is it possible to display the event date without an Event End Time.
You can hide the end date with CSS but every event needs an end date.

Or can the event date be displayed without any event time?
Yes, you can set the event to “All day”.

2. Displaying all events on the GD Archive Page will sort by Event Date. This has been set up in the Event Sorting settings. Set to Ascending, Default and Active have been checked on.
On the Search Bar, If an event type is selected, the Search Page is displayed with Events in Ascending Event Date order.
On the Search Bar, if a location is selected, the Search Page is displayed with Events in nearest to location order.
Is it possible to always sort by Event Date?
Only when no other search criteria is used. Search criteria takes precedence, so if searching near a location, then they will be presented that way.

3. Can the GD Detail Listing Page top banner which has the event name and image be made thinner?
Yes, but that will be theme specific.

4. How do you enable the Near Me compass button on the search bar, next to the Near me location bar. As per the “Find Local Treasures” sample website. When you select the button it comes up with a slider for miles.

Try resetting the database count:
GD > Status > Tools > Term counts > Run

And make sure to clear all caches.

Yes, normally only media uploaded through the admin area finds its way into media.
