Pins you did not add usually come from dummy data. A map that never finishes loading is almost always a JavaScript error on the page or a problem with your maps API key.
Pins you did not add
If you installed dummy data during setup, those sample listings are placed around your default location and show on the map like real ones. Their addresses are made up. To remove them:
- Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Dummy Data.
- Find the post type you added sample data to and click the button to remove it.
Your own listings are not touched. See Settings Overview for General > Dummy Data. Listings brought in with an importer, such as the Social Importer, are real listings and need deleting like any other.
Map that never finishes loading
- Press F12 on the page with the map and open the Console tab. Any red error is the place to start.
- If the error mentions Google (for example an API that is not activated, or a key not authorized for your site), fix the key. See Get a Google API Key.
- If the error comes from another plugin’s script, deactivate plugins one at a time until the map loads. Add-ons that put scripts on the same page, such as captcha or optimisation plugins, are worth testing first.
- Clear any caching or minify plugin and test again, since combined or deferred scripts can load in the wrong order.
