The Latitude, Longitude and Map View inputs on the GeoDirectory add listing form belong to the Address field, which is why they aren’t listed as fields of their own. You turn them on or off in the Address field settings.
- Go to Places > Settings > Custom Fields and open the Address field.
- Show the advanced settings.
- Untick “Show latitude and longitude” to hide the coordinate inputs.
- Untick “Display map view” to hide the choice of map type (satellite, hybrid or terrain).
- Save the field.
The coordinates are still saved. The address lookup and the map pin fill them in, and the inputs are only hidden from the form. Admins always see the latitude and longitude inputs when editing a listing in wp-admin.
Checking addresses
GeoDirectory doesn’t check that the address text matches the map pin. A user can set the pin from a real address and then change the street to anything, and the listing saves with what they typed. If accurate addresses matter, set “New listing default status” in GeoDirectory > Settings > General to Pending Review and check listings before you publish them. See Guide to moderating listings.
If some listings shouldn’t show an address at all, see Can I add listings without an address? and How to set up private address.
