Ultimate Member users are normal WordPress users, so they can add and edit GeoDirectory listings with the same login and need no separate account. GeoDirectory has no built-in Ultimate Member integration, though, and the problem people hit is the “My listings” links.
Why “My listings” goes to the wrong page
The GD > Dashboard block links each user to their listings on their WordPress author page (for example /author/username/places/). Ultimate Member can redirect author pages to its own profile pages, and then those links end up on the profile or the home page instead of the listing list.
Ways to let users manage their listings
- Show an Edit link on the listing itself. The GD > Author Actions block shows Edit to the listing’s owner. Add it to your details page template if it is not there already. The link opens the add listing form with that listing loaded.
- Check your Ultimate Member settings for author page redirects and turn that off if you can, so the dashboard links work again.
- Change where the links point with the
geodir_dashboard_link_my_listingfilter if you build your own listings page.
This snippet is a starting point for the filter. It sends the link to a page of your own, passing the post type:
add_filter( 'geodir_dashboard_link_my_listing', 'my_gd_my_listings_link', 10, 3 );
function my_gd_my_listings_link( $link, $post_type, $user_id ) {
return add_query_arg( 'stype', $post_type, home_url( '/my-listings/' ) );
}
If you have not settled on a membership plugin yet, our own UsersWP plugin is built to work with GeoDirectory and shows each user’s listings on their profile.
