GeoDirectory doesn’t have its own login or registration pages. Its Login and Register links use the standard WordPress login and registration URLs, so the plugin that controls those URLs also decides where GeoDirectory sends people.
Use UsersWP
UsersWP is our free user plugin and works with GeoDirectory out of the box. It gives you separate login, register, account and profile pages that you can edit like any other page, so you can put your own content around the forms.
- Install and activate UsersWP.
- Go to UsersWP > Settings > General > Pages and check the Login Page and Register Page settings.
- Edit those pages to add your own text, images or layout around the login and register forms.
Once UsersWP is active, the Login and Register links on the add listing page and elsewhere in GeoDirectory point to these pages.
Use your own pages from another plugin
If you handle registration with another plugin, such as a membership plugin, check whether it has an option to replace the WordPress login and registration URLs. If it doesn’t, this snippet sends both links to your own pages. Change the two paths to match your pages:
add_filter( 'register_url', function( $url ) {
return home_url( '/register/' );
} );
add_filter( 'login_url', function( $login_url, $redirect ) {
$url = home_url( '/login/' );
if ( ! empty( $redirect ) ) {
$url = add_query_arg( 'redirect_to', urlencode( $redirect ), $url );
}
return $url;
}, 10, 2 );
These filters change the links across your whole site, including the default WordPress ones. You can add the snippet with the Code Snippets plugin.
The Register link only shows when registration is open in Settings > General > Membership. If people can’t sign up at all, see why can my users not register.
