Yes. GeoDirectory has a setting that lets logged-out visitors submit a listing from the Add Listing page. The form asks for their name and email, and GeoDirectory creates a WordPress account for them when they submit.
Turn it on
- Go to Settings > General in WordPress and tick Anyone can register next to Membership. GeoDirectory only shows the logged-out form when registration is open.
- Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General and click Show Advanced.
- Tick Allow posting without logging in? and save changes.
The Add Listing form now starts with a Your Details section with Name and Email fields.
What happens when someone submits
- If the email is new, GeoDirectory creates a user with a random password and WordPress sends its usual new user emails. The visitor can set a password later with the lost password link and come back to edit the listing.
- If the email already belongs to an account, the listing is assigned to that account.
- The listing gets the status from New listing default status on the same settings page. Keep it at Pending Review if you want to check listings before they go live. See Guide to moderating listings.
Sharing one test login with all your visitors causes problems, because anyone using that account can edit every listing it has posted.
On WP Engine hosting this feature needs an extra step: How to allow posting without logging in when using WP Engine hosting.
