GeoDirectory map markers come from your categories, so each category can have its own marker. A listing in several categories uses the marker of its default category.

Change the marker for a category

1. Go to Places > Categories (or the categories of your other post type) and edit the category.
2. Upload a new image in Map Icon. Use a small image, around the size of a map pin.
3. Update the category.

If you don’t upload a Map Icon, GeoDirectory makes a marker from the category’s Category Icon and Category Color. To use that generated marker again, remove the uploaded Map Icon, pick an icon and colour, and update the category.

Change the default marker

Listings whose category has no marker use the default marker icon. Change it in GeoDirectory > Settings > General under Map Settings, in the “Default marker icon” setting. It is an advanced setting, so click Show Advanced if you don’t see it.

If the old marker still shows after a change, clear your site and browser cache and reload the map.
