The GD > Map widget picks which markers to show from its Map type setting. Use the Directory Map type to show every listing. On category and post type archive pages, use the Archive Map type and tick “Show all posts?” so the map includes listings beyond the current page of results.

Show all listings on a page

1. Edit the page where you want the map and add the GD > Map block, the GD > Map widget or the [gd_map] shortcode.
2. Set Map type to Directory Map.
3. Choose the Default Post Type and leave Category restrictions empty, so no categories are left out.
4. If you have more than one post type, tick “Enable post type filter?” so visitors can switch between them. “Enable category filter?” lets them show and hide categories on the map.

The same map as a shortcode:

[gd_map map_type="directory" post_type="gd_place" post_type_filter="1" cat_filter="1"]

Show all listings of a category on archive pages

An Archive Map only shows markers for the listings on the current page of results. If your archive shows 10 listings per page, the map shows those 10.

To show markers for every listing in the category, edit the map that appears on your archive pages and tick “Show all posts?”. The option only appears when Map type is set to Archive Map. The map is usually in your archive template (GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Pages, Archive page) or in a sidebar widget.

To make the list and the map match, show more listings per page. See Changing the number of listings shown on Archive and Search pages.

Things to know

• With Location Manager active, the map follows the visitor’s current location, so it shows all listings in that location.
• A map with hundreds of markers is slow to load and hard to read. The Marker Cluster add-on groups nearby markers.
• Every map option is listed in GD > Map.
