The most common reason is a key from the wrong store. Each add-on is licensed by the site you bought it from, and a key only activates the products it was issued for.
- GeoDirectory add-ons are sold on wpgeodirectory.com, and their keys are in your account there.
- GetPaid add-ons (GetPaid was called Invoicing until 2020), such as the AffiliateWP Integration, are sold on wpgetpaid.com, and their keys are in your wpgetpaid.com account.
- UsersWP add-ons are sold on userswp.io.
So if the plugin is called “Invoicing – AffiliateWP Integration” or “GetPaid – AffiliateWP Integration”, a key copied from your GeoDirectory account will be rejected. Use the key from the GetPaid account instead.
Avoid keys altogether
On a live site you can connect the site to your account instead of pasting keys. Go to GeoDirectory > Extensions and click Connect Site. The site is then linked through AyeCode Connect and can install and update the add-ons on that account. License keys explains both the connected and the manual method.
Other things to check
- The license has not expired.
- The license has a free site slot. Deactivate it on an old or staging site you no longer use.
- If AyeCode Connect cannot reach our servers, see AyeCode Connect Connection Troubleshooting.
