The GeoDirectory map shows “No Records Found” when it has no listings to place on the map for that page and its filters. The map itself has loaded, so the fix is in your listings or the map settings. Work through the checks below.
Check that you have published listings
The map only plots published listings that have an address on the map. Go to Places > All Places (or the menu of your other post type) and check that listings are published. On a new site, dummy data is the quickest way to test the map: see Add Dummy Data.
Check the map block settings
Edit the page with the map and open the settings of the GD > Map block or widget:
- Default Post Type must be a post type that has listings.
- Category restrictions (
terms) limits the map to the category IDs you list. Leave it empty to show all categories. - Tick/Untick Categories on Map (
tick_terms) sets which categories start unticked. - Filter by tags only shows listings with those tags.
On category, search and other archive pages the map only shows the listings on that page. An empty category, or a search with no matches, shows the same message, and that is expected. GD > Map lists every setting.
Did you change the default location after adding listings?
Without the Location Manager add-on, GeoDirectory works with one city: the default location at GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Default location. Changing it once listings exist can break them, which is why GeoDirectory asks “Are you sure? This can break current listings.” when you save a new city. Listings added before the change still have the old city, region and country.
To fix it, edit each listing, give it an address in the new default location and save it. If the listings are dummy data, remove the dummy data and add it again at GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Dummy Data, so it is created around the new location.
If you need listings in more than one city, install Location Manager, which lets listings be added anywhere. See the Location Manager setup guide.
Still empty?
Open your browser console on that page. A JavaScript error from another plugin, or a Google Maps API key error, can stop the markers loading. Maps Have Stopped Working On My Site! covers the API key errors.
