The claim button from the Claim Listings add-on only shows on listings that can be claimed and haven’t been claimed yet. If it’s missing, work through these checks.
- The post type has the claim field. Go to Places > Settings > Custom Fields, add the predefined Claimed field (its admin title is Is Claimed?) and make sure it’s active. Without it, listings of that post type can’t be claimed.
- The listing isn’t marked as claimed. Edit the listing in the backend and untick Is Claimed?. Also check the field’s default value: if it’s ticked by default, every new listing is saved as already claimed.
- The button is on the page. Add the GD > Post Claim block or widget to your Details page template or your listing sidebar, or use the shortcode
[gd_claim_post]. - Your cache is clear. A cached copy of the page from before you made these changes won’t show the button.
Fixing many listings at once
Listings imported from a CSV or converted from another system can carry an unexpected value in the claimed field. Any value other than empty or 0 counts as claimed, so the button stays hidden. To fix them in bulk:
- Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > Import/Export and export your listings to CSV.
- In the
claimedcolumn, enter 1 for listings that really are claimed and 0 for the rest. - Import the file again to update the listings.
For the full set-up, see the Claim Listings setup guide and GD > Post Claim. If you sell claims with Pricing Manager, see How to set up pay to claim listings.
