If GeoDirectory listing pages load but the listing itself is missing, the cause is nearly always one of three things: the Details page template has no content, CSS is hiding it, or the theme or a page builder is using its own template instead. Work through the checks below.
Check the Details page template
- Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Pages and look at Details Page under Template Page Settings. A page must be selected.
- Open that page and check it still has content. The default content is below.
- If the page was deleted, run “Create default GeoDirectory pages” in GeoDirectory > Status > Tools. It installs missing GeoDirectory pages and leaves pages that are already set up alone.

A post type can also have its own Details page in its settings, for example Places > Settings > General, so check the post type that is affected.
Check for CSS that hides the content
Custom CSS in your theme, child theme or Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS can hide the GeoDirectory wrapper. View the page source: if the listing title and fields are in the HTML but not on the screen, CSS is hiding them. Settings copied from another site can bring that CSS with them.
Check the theme and page builder
- Switch to a default WordPress theme for a moment. If the listing appears, the theme’s single post template isn’t outputting the page content. Try another file in GeoDirectory > Settings > Design > Details, “Page template file override”.
- A theme builder single post template, from Elementor Pro, Divi and similar tools, can replace the GeoDirectory template when it is set to all posts. See Using a builder with GeoDirectory.
A 404 page instead of a blank one
If the listing URL shows a Page Not Found error, the problem is with permalinks rather than the template. See Why do I get a 404 Page Not Found error?.
