In GeoDirectory the listing details page is built from an ordinary WordPress page, the GD Details template page. The blocks or shortcodes you put on that page are shown on every listing, so you change the layout by editing that page. You do not need to copy PHP template files for most layout changes.
Find the details template page
- Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Pages.
- Under Template Page Settings, the Details Page setting shows which page is used. On a new install it is called GD Details.
- Open that page in the editor. It is only a template, so do not add it to a menu or link to it.
A new install puts these blocks on the page: GD > Notifications, GD > Post Images (as a slider), GD > Single Taxonomies, GD > Single Tabs and GD > Single Next Prev. You can move, remove or add blocks the same way as on any other page.
Put the title, address and phone at the top
To get a header area with the listing name and contact details above the content, add these blocks near the top of the GD Details page, above GD > Single Tabs:
- GD > Post Images with Output Type set to Single image, for one large image instead of a slider.
- GD > Post Title for the listing name.
- GD > Post Address for the address.
- GD > Post Meta for any other field. Set the key to the field you want, for example
[gd_post_meta key="phone"]for the phone number.
If the featured image now shows twice (once from your theme and once from GeoDirectory), turn on “Disable theme feature image output?” at GeoDirectory > Settings > Design > Details.
Change what is inside the tabs
The tabs come from the GD > Single Tabs block, and you manage them at Places > Settings > Tabs (each post type has its own). There you can add, remove and reorder tabs and put custom fields inside them. See How to use the Tabs Builder in GeoDirectory.
Page builders and template files
With Divi, Elementor or another builder you can design the GD Details page in the builder and place the GeoDirectory elements inside it. Using a builder with GeoDirectory covers the details for each builder.
For changes the blocks cannot make, you can override GeoDirectory template files in your child theme. See Customizing templates.
