GeoDirectory archive pages (category pages, the post type page and search results) are built from two template pages. The archive page holds the [gd_loop] that lists the listings, and the archive item page sets what each listing card shows. You change the number of listings in WordPress itself and the excerpt and read more link in the archive item page.
Number of listings per page
The loop uses the WordPress reading setting, so there is no separate GeoDirectory option for it.
- Go to Settings > Reading in your WordPress admin.
- Change Blog pages show at most to the number of listings you want on each page.
- Save the changes.
This also changes how many blog posts your blog page shows. If you need a different number for listings only, see Changing the number of listings shown on Archive and Search pages.
Remove the excerpt or the read more link
- Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Pages and find Archive item page under Template Page Settings. Open that page in the editor.
- If the page uses the GD > Simple Archive Item block, open its settings and look at the description options. Set Word limit to 0 to remove the excerpt completely, or leave a limit and set Read more link to 0 to keep the text without the link.
- If the page uses shortcodes, find the line that starts with
[gd_post_content. Delete the line to remove the excerpt, or addread_more='0'to keep the text and hide the link. - Update the page.
The read more link only appears when the content has a word limit or a max height, which is why the default line looks like this:
[gd_post_content key='post_content' limit='60' max_height='120']
To keep a short excerpt with no link, change it to:
[gd_post_content key='post_content' limit='30' read_more='0']
If a post type has its own archive item page set under its post type settings, edit that page instead. The GD > Loop and GD > Post Content docs list every option.
