Listing expiry comes from the Pricing Manager add-on. Each price package has a lifetime, and every listing on that package gets an expiry date from it. Users cannot choose or change the date in the add listing form.
Set the package lifetime
- Go to Places > Settings > Packages.
- Edit the package, or add a new one.
- Set Package Lifetime to 30 and choose Day(s) as the unit. Leave it blank or 0 if listings on this package should never expire.
- Save the package.
When a listing passes its expiry date it is marked as expired. Understanding “Expired” and “Closed” listings explains what visitors and owners see then. The Pricing Manager can also email the owner before the listing expires, so they have a chance to renew.
Show the expiry date on the listing
The date is stored in a field called expire_date. To show it, add a GD > Post Meta block to the GD Details template page with the key set to expire_date, or use the shortcode:
[gd_post_meta key="expire_date"]
It shows the date along with the number of days left. It is an admin only field: users do not see it in the add listing form, but you can change it when editing a listing in wp-admin.
