The Open now and Closed now labels shown with GeoDirectory business hours are translatable text, so you change them like any other GeoDirectory wording: with a translation plugin or a short code snippet. The same strings are used on the page and in the live status that updates in the browser, so one change covers both.
With a translation plugin
Use a plugin such as Loco Translate (or Poedit on your computer) to edit the geodirectory text domain and enter your own wording for the strings you want to change. The business hours strings include:
Open nowClosed nowClosed todayOpen 24 hours
The step-by-step guide is in How to change just one language string.
With a code snippet
If you only want to change one or two labels, add this to your child theme’s functions.php or to a snippets plugin. Change the text on the right to your own wording, and add more lines for other strings.
add_filter( 'gettext', 'my_gd_business_hours_text', 20, 3 );
function my_gd_business_hours_text( $translation, $text, $domain ) {
if ( 'geodirectory' !== $domain ) {
return $translation;
}
$new_text = array(
'Open now' => 'Service is live',
'Closed now' => 'Service times',
);
if ( isset( $new_text[ $text ] ) ) {
return $new_text[ $text ];
}
return $translation;
}
Clear any page cache afterwards so the new wording shows to visitors.
