GeoDirectory has a predefined Special Offers field, and the GD > Listings block can show only listings that have something in it. Put the two together on a normal page and you have an offers page.
Add the Special Offers field
Go to Places > Settings > Custom Fields and add Special Offers from the Predefined Fields list, if it is not there already. Listing owners can then enter their offer on the add listing form.
Build the page
- Create a new page, for example “Latest offers”.
- Add a GD > Listings block (or widget or shortcode).
- Tick “Only show listings with special offers?”.
- Set Sort by to Latest or Recently Updated, and set Posts to show and pagination to suit.
As a shortcode:
[gd_listings post_type='gd_place' show_special_only='1' sort_by='post_modified_desc' post_limit='12' with_pagination='1']
Latest sorts by when the listing was published and Recently Updated by when it was last edited. GeoDirectory does not keep a separate date for the offer itself, so Recently Updated is usually the closer match.
Show the offer text in each card
By default each card shows the listing’s normal archive item. To show the offer instead of (or as well as) the description, make a page to use as a custom archive item template and include:
[gd_post_meta key='special_offers' show='value']
Then in the GD > Listings block, set Archive Item Template Type to Page and pick that page. Each card still links to the listing, so visitors can click through to the full details. GD > Listings covers the other settings.
