GeoDirectory’s listing export includes each listing’s images in the post_images column. How you import them depends on whether the CSV goes back into the same site or into a new one.
What the post_images column holds
Each image is written as url|media ID|title|caption, and images are separated by two colons, ::. The first image is the featured image.
Importing back into the same site
Leave post_images as it was exported. The media IDs point to images already in your library, so the importer keeps them and only updates their order, titles and captions. Keep the ID column too, and at GeoDirectory > Settings > Import/Export > Listings set If post ID exists to Update listing.
Moving listings to another site
Media IDs from the old site mean nothing on the new one, so remove them and let the importer download the images:
- Export the listings from the old site.
- In the CSV, empty the ID column so the import creates new listings.
- In
post_images, remove the media ID from every image so each one readsurl||title|caption. - Keep the old site online and import the CSV on the new site. The importer downloads each image from its URL into the new media library.
Image URLs must end in a file name with an extension such as .jpg. A URL that starts with # is kept as an external image and isn’t downloaded.
Adding images to new listings
For new listings you can also upload the image files yourself, by FTP or your host’s file manager, into the current month’s uploads folder (for example wp-content/uploads/2026/10), and put only the file name in post_images, such as hotel.jpg|||. Every file in the folder needs a unique name.
