GeoDirectory shows this message on the Add Listing form when the address you set on the map is outside the city your directory is limited to. Without the Location Manager add-on, GeoDirectory is a single city directory, so every listing has to be in the city of your default location.

If the brackets are empty, as in “Please choose any address of the () city only.”, no default city has been saved yet, and every address fails the check.

Set the default location

1. If you use OpenStreetMap, first set Maps API at GeoDirectory > Settings > General (under Show Advanced), so the default location comes from the same map service as the Add Listing form.
2. Go to GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Default Location.
3. Search for your city or drag the map marker to it.
4. Check that City, Region, Country, City Latitude and City Longitude are filled in, then save changes.

The check compares city names, so the saved city must be spelled the way the map service returns it for addresses in that city. If addresses in your city still fail, try setting the default location again by dragging the marker onto a street in the city centre.

Listings in more than one city

To accept addresses anywhere, or in a set of countries, regions or cities, you need the Location Manager add-on. With it, the same kind of message names the places you allow, for example “Please choose any address of the (United Kingdom) country only.” See the Location Manager setup guide and How do I change the default location?.
