If your GeoDirectory listings show a blank page, a 404 error or don’t appear in lists, start with the symptom below that matches.
Listing pages are blank (white screen)
A blank page is almost always a PHP fatal error. Turn on the WordPress debug log by adding these lines to wp-config.php, above the line that says to stop editing:
define( 'WP_DEBUG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true );
define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );
Reload the page, then open wp-content/debug.log. The error names the plugin or theme file at fault.
A common cause is GeoDirectory core and its add-ons being out of step after a partial update. Update core and every GeoDirectory add-on together, then check again. Turn the debug log off when you’re done.
Listing pages show 404 Page Not Found
Go to Settings > Permalinks in WordPress and click Save Changes, which rebuilds the rewrite rules. If that doesn’t fix it, see Why do I get a 404 Page Not Found error?.
Listings are missing from lists
- Status: only published listings show. Pending, draft and expired listings are hidden. See Understanding “Expired” and “Closed” Listings.
- Category: category pages list listings by category, so every listing needs at least one category.
- Location: with Location Manager, lists follow the visitor’s current location, so listings in other cities won’t show there.
- Templates: the page set as Archive page in GeoDirectory > Settings > General > Pages must still contain the GD > Loop block. Without it, category pages have no listings.
- Custom pages: on your own pages, listings only show where you add a GD > Listings block or
[gd_listings]shortcode. - Caching: clear your page cache and any server or CDN cache after changes.
