GeoDirectory has a Video field for this. Add it to your post type, and listing owners paste a YouTube or Vimeo link into it. GeoDirectory then shows the video player on the listing.
Add the Video field
- Go to Places > Settings > Custom Fields.
- Find Video in the list of fields you can add, and add it.
- Save.
Keep the field key as video. GeoDirectory embeds links automatically for a field with that key.
What to enter in the field
Paste the address of the video page on its own, for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID. GeoDirectory turns links from any service WordPress can embed, such as YouTube and Vimeo, into a player. If you see the link as plain text, check that the URL is complete and is the only thing in the field.
Where the video appears
Add the video to a tab on the details page in Places > Settings > Tabs (see How to Use the Tabs Builder in GeoDirectory), or show it anywhere in the Details Page template with GD > Post Meta:
[gd_post_meta key="video" show="value"]
Embedding media in other fields
To embed links in a different textarea field, open that field in Places > Settings > Custom Fields, click Show Advanced and tick Embed Media URLs. It works for videos, images, tweets, audio and anything else WordPress can embed.
