The large image at the top of a GeoDirectory listing page is the listing’s featured image. GeoDirectory sets it from the first image in the listing’s Images field, so to change it you change which image comes first.
Change the image for one listing
- Edit the listing, from the frontend edit link or in wp-admin.
- In the Images field, drag the image you want to the first position, or upload it and then move it first.
- Save the listing. The first image becomes the featured image.
Set an image for listings without photos
When a listing has no images, GD > Post Images falls back to the first of these that exists: the listing’s logo, the category’s default image, the post type’s default image and the site-wide default.
- Category: Places > Categories, edit the category and set Default Listing Image.
- Post type: Places > Settings > General, click Show Advanced and set Default image.
- Whole site: GeoDirectory > Settings > Design > Archives, Listing default image.
Same image showing twice
Many themes show the featured image in a header area, and the Details Page template shows the images again with GD > Post Images. To stop the theme printing its copy, tick “Disable theme feature image output?” in GeoDirectory > Settings > Design > Details. To keep the theme header and drop the second copy, edit the Details Page template and remove or move the GD > Post Images block.
Header size and pages that aren’t listings
The theme decides how big the header image is, how it is cropped and whether it sits behind the logo. On ordinary WordPress pages the header uses that page’s own featured image. For Supreme Directory, see Supreme Directory Featured Area Background.
All image display options are in GD > Post Images.
